Believe it or not, there exists a quite old and legendary supplier of metal detection equipment in Oregon, USA.  The company is called Blue Bucket Mining.  They have been selling equipment such as metal detectors as well as equipment used in recreational prospecting ever since the year 1996.

Their catalog provides a list of all kinds of metal detectors available, supplies used in metal detecting, gold pans, and sluice boxes as well as a host of books which are all related to metal detecting.

Searching for treasure is something that children grew up with after reading books about pirates.  This fantasy can now become a reality as the person can buy a metal detector and start looking for jewelry or old coins that have been buried in the ground.

Some people think that reading the manual will make the individual an expert in looking for these objects. The truth is it takes time to master the skill and getting some help from the experts is a good start.

There is a wide range of hobbies to choose from.  You can read, you can write poetry, do scrap booking, cross stitch a picture you love, or you can try metal detecting.  It’s not a new thing; it’s just not advertised that much so it’s not that greatly appreciated by the general public.

There are lots of groups and societies that center on metal detecting.  Most of the members of these groups have their own jobs and use metal detecting as a form of hobby, relaxation and diversion to the hustle and bustle of the hectic work they contend on working days.
